The Master of Health and Wellness (MHW) online program will prepare experts to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and lead health and well-being initiatives to build wellness cultures and improve population health in a variety of settings. The MHW program is focused on leading, designing and evaluating system-level approaches to health and well-being. Graduates of the program will be considered health promotion professionals and could serve in roles such as chief wellness officers or directors and managers of health and well-being programs.

Employers are increasingly recognizing the importance of health and wellness in terms of employee health outcomes, reduced costs and other productivity benefits for their company. Opportunities upon graduation are vast and may include work settings such as worksites, insurance companies, schools, community-based settings, hospitals and clinical health and more.

To enhance skills learned and apply concepts throughout the curriculum, students will gain experience from a field placement and their program will culminate in a capstone project. Our directors and faculty provide mentorship and work with students to ensure site placements meet program expectations and objectives. This completely online program can be completed in two years part-time.

The Ohio State University is authorized to offer the MHW in all 50 states. For more information on state authorization requirements and disclosures related to online programs, please visit the University’s Online Programs State Authorization webpage.
