Golden Buckeye Center for Dementia Caregiving

It’s easy for caregivers to feel like they’re on an island when they are providing help to a loved one or a patient living with dementia. Caregivers give so much of themselves that, sometimes, they struggle with caring for themselves. We have world-renowned experts and researchers who offer trainings, resources and research to build connection, competence and confidence as we support family and formal care partners across the state of Ohio. You are answering a calling to care. We are here to support you in that purpose.

About

The Golden Buckeye Center for Dementia Caregiving was created in conjunction with Ohio’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias Statewide Resource Program. This collaborative effort led by the Ohio Department of Aging aims to deliver information, education and resources to enhance the knowledge base and resource infrastructure throughout all of Ohio to support dementia caregivers.

Our center is designed to provide access to dementia care resources, education and caregiver support services for family caregivers, primary care clinicians, first responders and employers throughout Ohio. We maintain both an in-person and virtual presence, focused on developing and strengthening the knowledge, skills and support of family and professional caregivers. We have a strong cadre of research and clinical practice faculty – with deep experience in gerontology, dementia assessment and caregiving – who are committed to discovering new avenues to help older adults living with dementia and to advocate for the caregivers who support them.
