Student Staff Support

The Office of Student Affairs and Success employees a team of student staff to serve as resources for both their classmates and prospective students to the College of Nursing.

Student Ombudsperson

The Student Ombudsperson is a senior-level student enrolled in the BSN program. The Ombudsperson serves as an advocate for students and represents the undergraduate student body on the Undergraduate Studies Committee. Additionally, the Ombudsperson helps in the development of special programs and coordinates the agenda for the Dean’s Advisory Council. All students are invited to participate in Dean’s Advisory Council. Information about this opportunity is shared with students in the fall. Interested students can also reach out to Hillary Stanley for more information.

Peer Advisors

The Peer Advisors are upper-class students enrolled in the BSN program. The Peer Advisors are trained by the professional advising staff and complete university required training for the management of FERPA protected information. The Peer Advisors meet individually with pre-nursing and nursing students to advise on course registration issues, assist in the selection of degree requirements such as the General Education curriculum, and serve as representatives of the college at special events.

Recruitment Student Assistant

The Recruitment Student Assistant is a current student in one of our graduate degree programs who assists our outreach and recruitment team by supporting communication with prospective students and hosting events. The Recruitment Student Assistant provides a valuable perspective as a current student and can share their experiences as a College of Nursing student with future students and their families.

Our Front Desk Student Staff provide College of Nursing students and visitors with outstanding customer service and assist with daily operation of the Office of Student Affairs and Success. They assist with scheduling advising appointments, respond to prospective student inquiries and assist the professional staff with projects.
