Dean Melnyk named one of 30 most influential nursing deans

Confirming what so many healthcare practitioners, thought leaders, nursing students, faculty and staff already know, a national blog has named Dean Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, RN, CPNP/PMHNP, FAANP, FNAP, FAAN, one of the 30 Most Influential Deans of Nursing in the United States.

The Mometrix Blog, hosted by the Mometrix Test Preparation company, recently honored Melnyk, who is also The Ohio State University associate vice president for health promotion and university chief wellness officer.

The list was compiled based on data including awards, Top 10 rankings, National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding and National Council Lincensure Examination (NCLEX) passing percentage.

Melnyk was recognized as “an internationally recognized expert in child and adolescent mental health and evidence-based practice and is frequently invited to speak at conferences around the world on these topics." Melnyk has published over 250 writings and is the co-editor of four books, including one that won an American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year award. She also recently founded the National Interprofessional Education and Practice Collaborative as well as the the first National Summit on Building Healthy Academic Communities. Melnyk also serves as an editor for the Worldviews on Evidence-based Nursing Journal.
