Glorivee Mendez Mendez

"Receiving a scholarship has relieved my financial burden. I had considered changing my job status to full-time, decreasing my academic credit hours and/or limiting my participation in research and volunteer opportunities to cover the cost of tuition. Your generosity allows me to reallocate potential work hours into my nursing career. I am very thrilled and appreciative to continue focusing on my schoolwork, research project and the community. Thanks to you, I am now one step closer to achieving my goals and dreams."

“By awarding me the Jane A. Heffernan Endowed Scholarship, you have reignited my love and passion for the field of nursing. I feel more confident than ever that taking a huge leap of faith in leaving my engineering position to pursue my calling was the right decision for me. I feel more committed than ever to not only getting my degree, but learning everything I can while I am at work and school in order to excel as a nurse in the future.”

Samuel Fojas

"As I’ve started my graduate career in nursing, I’ve been able to take part in community health education in a disadvantaged part of Columbus. The College of Nursing has provided the means for service opportunities and coursework, and as I’ve learned more about the process of providing nursing services in the community, I’ve become excited about the ways I can use my education as a future advanced practice nurse to help those who are economically disadvantaged.

The support I have received is meaningful to me in knowing that others are able to be a part of healthcare and compassion through me."

Alison Kraig

"Scholarships are extra meaningful due to the turmoil of the Coronavirus pandemic. I am now working as a nurse at a pediatric urgent care and our hours were reduced due to the pandemic. This has made it very hard to work towards paying for tuition. Your donation will help alleviate a lot of that burden as I work to keep children healthy during this time. It truly is an honor to be awarded this scholarship, and I will be forever grateful. You have inspired me to one day give back to nursing students like you have given to me."

Travis Nedrow

"The difference that it makes in the lives of students like me cannot be overstated. It has relieved a great burden from me and will help me to focus less on money and finances and focus more on achieving my goals and becoming the best nurse I possibly can. Thank you for contributing to my success and my future contributions to the nursing field. I am so grateful, and I cannot thank you enough for this amazing opportunity."

Esther Antonyuk

"By awarding me this generous scholarship, you have lightened the financial burden on my family and myself. As a first-generation university student, I have learned firsthand the magnitude of college tuition and the effects it has on families like mine. This has taught me to appreciate every person and organization that helps me complete my degree and reach my goals. Your kind and unselfish donation encourages me to give back to my community and university. I genuinely  hope that I am one day able to bless other students as you have blessed me."
