The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded a $25.4 million grant to The Ohio State University Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS), a collaboration between The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) created to accelerate basic science discoveries into life-saving medical advances.  

Study Suggests Focus on Mental Health Key to Improving Physical Health

Adding a mental health component to school-based lifestyle programs for teens could be key to lowering obesity, improving grades, alleviating severe depression and reducing substance use, a new study suggests.

The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) announced the appointment of five new members to the National Advisory Council for Nursing Research (NACNR), the institute's principal advisory board. Members of the council are drawn from the scientific and lay communities, embodying a diverse perspective from the fields of nursing, public and health policy, law, and economics.

Usha Menon, PhD, RN, FAAN, vice dean and professor at The Ohio State University College of Nursing, and Linda Larkey, PhD, professor at the Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation, have received a five-year, multi-site grant by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study the dissemination of colorectal cancer screening education to underserved populations.

Jodi Ford, PhD, RN, assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Nursing, has been awarded a seed grant from Ohio State’s Initiative in Population Research (IPR) for her study "Linking Biological and Social Pathways to Adolescent Health."
