A record number of College of Nursing faculty members from The Ohio State University have been selected for induction into the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) on Oct. 13, 2012. Becoming a fellow in the Academy is a highly competitive process and recognizes individuals who have achieved notable national impact in the field.
The four inductees are Margaret Graham, PhD, FNP, PNP, associate professor and associate dean for advanced practice and community partnerships; Pamela Salsberry, PhD, professor and director of the PhD program; Barbara Warren, PhD, professor of clinical nursing; and Jeanne Ruiz, PhD, an associate professor starting at the college on July 1, 2012.
According to AAN, Fellows are nursing leaders in education, management, practice and research. They include association executives, university presidents, chancellors and deans, state and federal political appointees, hospital chief executives and vice presidents for nursing, nurse consultants, and researchers and entrepreneurs. Academy Fellows also have a responsibility to contribute their time and energies to AAN and to engage with other healthcare leaders outside the Academy in transforming America's healthcare system by enhancing the quality of health and nursing care nationally and internationally.
