Homecoming
Over 100 alumni and friends returned to Newton Hall on October 8 and 9 to celebrate Homecoming Weekend 2021. On Friday, alumni and guests enjoyed breakfast in Newton Hall, tours of the college’s wet lab and Technology Learning Complex (TLC), a hard hat tour of the new building and Dean Melnyk’s annual State of the College address. In between, it was a day of wellness with a resistance band exercise, a guided meditation, and a cooking demonstration from the Wexner Medical Center Department of Nutrition about the benefits of eating nutritious meals.
Classmates and spouses from 1971 reunited for their 50-year reunion luncheon hosted by Dean Melnyk on the top floor of Thompson Library. Brenda Buffington, EdD, NBC-HWC, EP-C, assistant professor of clinical practice and executive director of the Health Athlete Program, hosted a lunch-and-learn lecture on improving health and well-being through energy management.
Saturday, alumni and their families enjoyed a tailgate at the Ohio Union before cheering the Buckeyes on to a resounding victory (66-17) over the Maryland Terrapins.
Save the date for next year’s Homecoming celebration: October 7-8, 2022.
