Dianne Morrison-Beedy
Dianne Morrison-Beedy joined The Ohio State University in 2018 as Chief Talent and Global Strategy Officer and Centennial Professor of Nursing. She has been a three-time recipient of a prestigious Fulbright Award (2019 Fulbright Specialist in Oslo, Norway; 2017 Fulbright Scholar in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Fulbright Administrator Awardee in Paris, France in 2012). As Dean of the College of Nursing and Senior Associate Vice President of USF Health, University of South Florida from 2010-2016, she catapulted the college into the top 25 in NIH funding, first in the nation for military and veteran’s health and top graduate program in Florida. Known both as a scholar and a leader, Dr. Morrison-Beedy has received numerous awards for her work including election into the International Nursing Research Hall of Fame, the Audrey Hepburn Award for Outstanding Contributions to Well-Being of Children, March of Dimes 2021 Research Nurse of the Year, Florida Top 100 Nurses, Excellence in HIV Prevention Award from the Association for Nurses in AIDS Care, and the Excellence in Research award from the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and both the Florida and New York State Distinguished Researcher. She developed a sexual risk reduction intervention for adolescent girls, HIPTeens, recognized by the CDC and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as an exemplary evidence-based intervention for both HIV/STI and teen pregnancy prevention. With over 250 publications and an award-winning research book, she has earned over $12 million in research funding and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, the National Academies of Practice and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She serves on several boards, holds Distinguished International Visiting Professorship Awards and was selected by the International Council of Nurses as a Global Nursing Leadership Institute Fellow in Geneva.
