College to accept candidates for January 2026 and August 2026 cohorts
The Ohio State University College of Nursing has received a $1.8 million, five-year continuation of its Training in the Science of Health Development (TSHD) program.
The National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Nursing Research (NIH/NINR), has funded the TSHD program for the past decade. The program prepares nursing scientists to study health development across the life span, with a focus on health and wellness outcomes. It has successfully trained 20 predoctoral and postdoctoral nursing scientists.
The program is led by College of Nursing faculty members Rita Pickler, PhD, RN, FAAN, and Mary Beth Happ, PhD, RN, FAAN, FGSA. It provides trainees with the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by faculty experts from the College of Nursing, across Ohio State and at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Trainees follow individualized plans that include coursework, seminars and participation in interdisciplinary research projects.
