BSN to DNP Admissions Timeline

This timeline is specific to applicants for the 2025 application cycle and is meant to provide an overview of what to expect from the admissions process once you have submitted your application. Dates may be approximate and are subject to change. If you have questions about the application process, please email us.

Deadline:

Round 1: October 15
Round 2: March 1

The application and all materials must be submitted. You can track the status of your application through your Applicant Center at appstatus.osu.edu. The application status will show as “pending” until a decision is posted. Ohio State graduate transfer applicants can track their application status by emailing nursing@osu.edu.

A limited number of DNP applicants to the Nurse Anesthesia specialty track will be offered a second-round interview and move forward with the admission process. If selected, the second-round interview will take place virtually (via Zoom) for 30 minutes on either December 19 or 20, 2024. Please note that if you are selected for a second-round interview you will receive this invitation via email by December 6, 2024. Not all applicants will move forward and be offered the chance to participate in a second-round interview. Official admission decision notifications will be sent via email by early February 2025.

Decision:

Round 1: Early February
Round 2: Late April

Most applicants will have a decision posted to their Applicant Center. All applicants, including Ohio State graduate transfer applicants, will be notified of their admission decision via email. Admitted students will receive a virtual admissions packet to guide next steps.

Accept Icon

 

Accept:

Round 1: Four weeks post decision
Round 2: Two weeks post decision

All admitted students will have either two or four weeks after the decision notification to accept their offer online, depending on when they are admitted.

Students admitted during Round 1 will be invited to attend a special event in early Spring to learn more about the college and help them in the decision to accept their offer.

Students who do not respond to their offer of admission by the deadline will have their offer canceled.

Requirements: August 1

Admitted students must complete the following:

  • A conferred BSN degree or Master of Science in Nursing.
  • A valid, unrestricted RN license
    • Students participating in an on-campus specialty must provide proof of Ohio RN licensure
    • Students participating in a distance learning specialty must provide proof of RN licensure in the state where they anticipate clinicals will be performed

 

Orientation: Mid-August

Orientation will be held virtually with the exception of students enrolled in the Nurse Anesthesia specialty track.
