In July 2024, four faculty from The Ohio State University College of Nursing traveled to Taiwan to collaborate with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University on enhancing the country’s only Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, delivering lectures, reviewing curriculum and launching a global exchange initiative.

In 2025, Ohio State University College of Nursing deepened its mission to serve underserved and rural populations by embedding clinical education into community-based initiatives. Through partnerships like the Eastland Health Care Hub and alumni-led clinics such as Sozo Pediatrics, the college empowered nurses to deliver holistic accessible care where it’s needed most — bridging gaps in food security, primary care and social services across Ohio’s most vulnerable regions.
This past year, we expanded services at our Total Health and Wellness practice — a Federally Qualified Health Center — to deliver accessible, affordable healthcare to underserved individuals and families throughout Columbus.

The Ohio State University College of Nursing’s Total Health and Wellness clinic expanded into the Total Health Care Center, introducing a new dental clinic and integrated services at its largest location to better serve medically underserved communities.

A $2.35 million NIH grant supports Ohio State College of Nursing researchers in evaluating a hybrid delivery model of the ezParent Program to improve parenting resources through Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Jodi Ford, PhD, RN, FAAN, is leading a $6.9 million NIH-funded study to support youth experiencing homelessness and reduce their risk of opioid use. Her team is testing proven interventions at Star House, a 24/7 drop-in center in Central Ohio. Their goal is to connect young people with the resources and relationships they need to stay healthy and build a better future.
