Eleven BSN seniors, two faculty members and a DNP student traveled over Spring Break to San José, Costa Rica, for education abroad experience. Every year, the College of Nursing sends a group of traditional BSN students led by faculty mentors to diverse international locations to study public health and nursing challenges, improving their cross-cultural patient care and communication skills.

In August 2023, the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare at The Ohio State University College of Nursing announced it’s 2023-2024 cohort of its Doctor of Nursing, which consisted of nine fellows that represented nursing leadership, clinical practice, and academia.

Led by Dr. Shaunta Stanford this workforce development program educates and prepares people to become community health workers (CHWs): front-facing public health workers who typically come from the community they want to serve. For the students, the program can be a bridge out of poverty and an opportunity to enter the healthcare field.
