Personal Reflections on Civic Engagement
Wednesday, October 8
Noon to 1 p.m.
Heminger Hall 380 or via Zoom
The Office of Community Outreach and Engagement at the College of Nursing is pleased to host guest speaker Joe Gantz, BSN, RN – a Buckeye alum (BS, Psychology 2010) and former running back for the Ohio State Buckeye football team. He will discuss the importance of civic engagement, specifically volunteerism, for practicing nurses. Participants will hear his inspiring story, from his status as a walk-on to the football team under Coach Jim Tressel to his journey as an ER nurse at Grant Medical Center and in occupational nursing at Memorial Health Ohio. He currently serves as Area Vice President and Director of Donor Services at Versiti, the blood provider to the Wexner Medical Center. Joe has a passion for making a difference in the health and well-being of communities.
For those who register to join the conversation via Zoom, a link will be sent upon registration. A video recording will be provided following the event.
