The Ohio State University

When I look back at the 12 years I have served The Ohio State University College of Nursing, my heart is full of joy as I consider the progress we have made, the many milestones and accomplishments the college has witnessed and, best of all, the many bonds of friendship, partnership and mentorship I have been blessed to acquire here.

Now I am preparing to transition from dean of the College of Nursing to focus my energy on my roles as Chief Wellness Officer of The Ohio State University, Vice President for Health Promotion and Executive Director of the Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare. While we celebrate my tenure as dean in this issue of Transformations, I want to point out that it is really a celebration of you – the students who became alumni, the faculty and staff and our entire community – who rose to many challenges and far exceeded any expectations I could have dreamed for you. Your Buckeye spirit and courage to serve inspire me every day and make so many dreams possible. It has been an honor serving you in this role.

I invite you to read the story about our accomplishments over the past 12 years, and then begin to dream what the next 12 years will hold. Dream as if you cannot fail and proceed confidently in that direction, and you will achieve great success. Always keep dreaming, discovering and delivering!

Be well, and as always, go Buckeyes!

Fondly,
