Virtual Reality Lab

A collaboration of the Colleges of Nursing and Engineering to use extended reality, artificial intelligence and machine learning to revolutionize nursing education received a highly-competitive grant in 2022 from the American Nurses Foundation’s Reimagining Nursing Initiative.

The College of Nursing virtual reality (VR) lab was created soon thereafter to support the disruption of traditional nursing education and better prepare nursing graduates for high-stakes, real-world situations. The lab features several different VR-driven simulation activities to develop both practical nursing skills and “soft skills” such as empathy, stress management and effective team-based communication.
