Evidence-based practice expert takes role at international journal
The Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) has announced that Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, RN, CPNP/PMHNP, FNAP, FAAN, dean at The Ohio State University College of Nursing, has accepted the position of editor of Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing, a peer-reviewed evidence-based nursing journal published by Wiley on behalf of STTI. Melnyk takes over the position from founding editor Jo Rycroft-Malone, PhD, RN.
Melnyk, an internationally recognized expert in evidence-based practice (EBP), intervention research and child and adolescent mental health, is also the associate vice president for health promotion and university chief wellness officer for The Ohio State University, as well as a professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She serves on the National Quality Forum’s Behavioral Health Steering Committee and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Laboratory Medicine Best Practices Workgroup.

Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing is a highly regarded peer-reviewed scholarly journal covering knowledge and implementation science and the latest research and reviews on the study and implementation of EBP in nursing. It focuses on best practices and recommendations for clinical practice, nursing administration, nursing education and public health care policy.
Melnyk’s most recent honors include being inducted into STTI’s Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame and receiving the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties’ Lifetime Achievement Award.
