Greetings alumni! The College of Nursing and Nursing Alumni Society along with a host of students, faculty, staff and a new dean await your return to campus. We look forward to welcoming you back home to campus this fall for Homecoming! This year, we will be honoring all graduates from years ending in "5" or "0". Not a milestone year? Come anyway—all alumni and guests are welcome!

Football Tickets

The Department of Athletics will provide a College of Nursing promo code to purchase football tickets for Homecoming. Purchase football tickets here by August 4. 

Ohio State will employ mobile-only ticketing for all events moving forward, enabling contactless entry into Ohio Stadium and other athletics venues. Offering greater convenience and safety, fans can access their ticket online, transfer to family and friends, utilize Buckeyes TicketExchange, or donate tickets to charity. College of Nursing Class Giving Challenge

Each year, individuals in classes celebrating their reunion (this year it’s 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020) give back to honor the anniversary of their College of Nursing education. In addition to, or in lieu of, attending your reunion on Oct. 3-4, we hope you will join your classmates in supporting your class gift. Emily Funk (BSN ’05) will present “Beyond Neil Avenue: The Global Nursing Workforce – Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going.”

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

Describe key historical milestones in the development of the global nursing workforce, with particular attention to the evolution of advanced practice nursing roles (APRNs) and doctoral-level education. Analyze current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the global nursing workforce, including migration, retention, scope of practice, and regulatory differences. Discuss the role of the U.S. nursing workforce in shaping global nursing policy, education, and clinical standards. Reflect on how U.S.-based nurses and nurse leaders can engage in ethical and effective global health partnerships that go “beyond Neil Avenue.”

Dean Karen Rose and other senior leadership will highlight the recent exciting accomplishments of the college, share their vision for the future.

 

5-7 p.m. Reunion Celebration

Join us for an evening celebration of all graduates from years ending in a “5” or “0”! Catch up with classmates and reminisce about the days gone by. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages provided.

5-7 p.m. Master of Clinical Research 10-Year Anniversary Social

Heminger 100

Alumni of the Master of Clinical Research program are invited to attend a social honoring the anniversary of the program. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided. 

This activity will award 1.0 contact hour of continuing education. Successful completion requires your attendance for 80 percent of the session and submission of an evaluation form. The Ohio State University College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The speaker and topic will be announced soon.

           Join nursing alumni and guests for the annual Homecoming tailgate before the Buckeyes take on Minnesota.

What do I wear?

While there is no dress code, we encourage you to wear scarlet and gray. You can refer to photos from Homecoming Weekend 2023 for ideas. If you will attend the tailgate, please dress accordingly for the day’s weather.
