Ann Deerhake
Dr. Ann Deerhake has been with Ohio State since the spring of 2011. Her current teaching responsibilities are with the undergraduate leadership courses, graduate health promotion courses and graduate Clinical Nurse Leader transition course. Her teaching is completed within the online and clinical settings.
Dr. Deerhake's twenty plus years of clinical experience include critical care nursing at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio within the intensive care, open heart, stepdown intensive care and coronary convalescent units, as well as collaborative care and bedside staff education within the clinical resource and rapid response roles. She has also provided care in the home for chronically ill children and adults. Dr. Deerhake's clinical managerial/educational experience includes five years as a Clinical Nurse Leader within both the intensive care and open-heart units.
Dr. Deerhake received her ADN from Lima Technical College, BSN from Ohio Northern University and MS Nursing from The Ohio State University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

Faculty member recognized for impact and influence in the healthcare field
The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) named faculty member Jessica Fritter, DHSc, MACPR, ACRP-CP, FACRP, as part of its 2026 class of Fellows.
New research shows that overall, the prevalence of adverse and positive childhood experiences reported by parents of teenagers hasn’t changed substantially in the United States in recent years.
The findings suggest that interventions designed to boost positive family experiences and shield children from negative experiences may not be hitting the mark on a national scale, the study’s authors say.
