Dean's Message

March is Women’s History Month, and we are celebrating with a new YouTube series. Brought to you by the Martha S. Pitzer Center for Women, Children and Youth, “From Lab to Life” is a captivating journey into the world of College of Nursing women researchers, where you will learn about the research process – from the initial idea to its tangible real-world application – and discover how our pursuit of science can transform lives and communities. You can find it starting March 29 at youtube.com/@ohiostatenursing.

Several of our researchers and students were also celebrated this month at the Midwest Nursing Research Society’s conference. The presentations they shared and the awards and grants that they received speak to the purpose and dedication they show in answering their calling to care.

While the College of Nursing is making an impact nationally and internationally, we also try to make the world a better place starting right here at home. Be sure to read our new Transformative Solutions in Healthcare feature about ways that Total Health and Wellness/our Federally Qualified Health Center is expanding to serve the community with new partnerships. I also want to highlight the College of Nursing Staff Advisory Committee (CONSAC), who volunteered with Mid-Ohio Food Bank's market to help collect and distribute groceries to customers. I hear stories every day of ways our faculty and staff are making a difference for others, and I feel honored to be part of this caring community.

We’re already looking forward to Nurses’ Week (May 6-12) and we’re putting together a special campaign to celebrate and honor nursing. Please share your story with us on how nursing has positively impacted you and your life at nursing.osu.edu/honoringnursing.

I wish you good health and thank you for all that you do to brighten up your corner of the world!

Many thanks,
