Innovation Studio
The Connie Hahn Sharpe and Gary Sharpe Innovation Center hosts the Innovation Studio at 230 Jane E. Heminger Hall, a unique makerspace that helps interprofessional collaborators turn ideas into healthcare solutions.
The studio offers mentors, resources and state-of-the-art tools – including laser cutters, 3D printers and scanning equipment, mold making and casting assets – to inspire and empower students, faculty and staff from the College of Nursing and across the university. We seek to democratize innovation and remove roadblocks to progress so that people can join forces and answer a calling to care together.
Interprofessional teams and individuals can bring their ideas to the Innovation Studio any time, and they can participate in the center’s Pitch Days, where they are invited to present their ideas and compete for funding to fuel future development. You can submit an innovation idea at go.osu.edu/myinnovations. Click here to see the Pitch Day rules from our autumn 2025 event.
The Innovation Center was made possible by a gift from an inspiring Ohio State College of Nursing alumna, Connie Hahn Sharpe (’69), and her husband Gary, who together built Health Care Logistics, Inc., a company that specializes in healthcare innovations.
