College of Nursing clinical instructor Stephanie Justice, who works in the college's Technology Learning Complex (TLC), was recently profiled in a large feature in The Columbus Dispatch. The article focused on Justice's expertise in moulage, the art of applying mock injuries for training purposes. She uses combinations of household items to create realistic looking (and smelling) bodily liquids, broken bones and wounds from impalements, cuts and severe bruises. TLC staff members design mass-casualty simulations held in the lobby of Newton Hall. Senior nursing students are surprised during an acuity class and told to triage mock victims from a nearby bus accident (actual volunteer faculty and staff, as well as computerized patient simulators).
