Incoming Student Compliance

Students must maintain a compliant status while enrolled at the College of Nursing.

In compliance with university requirements and the policies of clinical and practicum sites, students must meet vaccination, licensure and training standards. Upon admission, students receive a list of compliance requirements to complete in order attend classes. Two types of documentation are needed:

  • medical documentation
  • certifications and trainings

All medical documentation is submitted, tracked and verified through Wilce Student Health Center. Requirement deadlines are specific to each program, curriculum plan and mode of instruction. Students are considered noncompliant if one or more requirements are not fulfilled. Noncompliant students are prohibited from attending clinical and health assessment.

Maintaining compliance

Beacon provides a personalized summary of compliance requirements and deadlines. Compliance status will only update in the portal if documentation is submitted correctly. Students must maintain compliance throughout enrollment in the College of Nursing.

Medical or religious exemption requests for any immunization requirements must be submitted through Student Health Services.

Risk of noncompliance

Students are responsible for ensuring their clinical compliance requirements do not lapse during their time in the program. The Office of Student Affairs and Success will send email notifications to noncompliant and at-risk students.

An at-risk status indicates a compliance requirement will expire soon. Students must take immediate action upon receiving a compliance notification.

Program-specific compliance requirements

Students must follow the submission instructions for each requirement. Compliance status is updated only after documentation is submitted correctly and fully processed. Processing may take up to 8-10 business days during peak periods.
