Ohio State’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing ranks fourth nationally

U.S. News & World Report ranks BSN program No. 4 out of 686 programs 

The Ohio State University College of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program ranks No. 4 among 686 programs nationwide, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings. 

The ranking matches Ohio State's standing from the previous year. 

The rankings are based on assessments from nursing school deans and senior faculty members across the country who evaluate the academic quality of BSN programs. 

“The Ohio State BSN program is extraordinary because it brings together amazing people, including students, faculty, alumni and community partners,” said Karen Rose, PhD, RN, FGSA, FNAP, FAAN, dean of the College of Nursing. “It should be a point of pride for all Ohioans because its quality, combined with its scale, is helping strengthen the future of healthcare across our state.” 

Ohio State BSN students benefit from hands-on clinical experiences, nationally recognized faculty and innovative learning environments, including immersive simulation and extended reality technologies. The college also continues to expand pathways into the nursing profession through multiple programs, including its RN to BSN, Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and LPN to BSN options. 

The latest ranking reflects the College of Nursing’s sustained national excellence and Ohio State's commitment to preparing the next generation of nurse leaders.
