Signature undergraduate program places #4 overall for third straight year
U.S. News & World Report released new rankings this morning that, for the third consecutive year, place The Ohio State University College of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program tied for #1 among public colleges of nursing and #4 overall in the United States.
The college’s BSN program also ranks first among colleges of nursing across the Big Ten and first in the state of Ohio. This year’s rankings gathered judgments on academic quality from deans and senior faculty across the country to compare programs from 686 institutions.
“Every day, our students, faculty, staff, alumni and partners inspire me to reach higher, do better and dig deeper to help them answer their calling to care and change healthcare in ways that benefit all people,” said Karen Rose, PhD, RN, FGSA, FNAP, FAAN, dean and professor at the College of Nursing. “They are the drivers of our impact and success, and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a college where this level of passion and purpose is on display.”
The College of Nursing continues to expand access to its BSN degree track. The first graduates of the college’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (aBSN), which is designed for people with a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field and can take as little as 18 months to complete, are expected to earn their diplomas after the current autumn semester. The LPN to BSN Bridge track provides a clear pathway for Licensed Practical Nurses to complete a BSN through academic instruction, clinical practice and direct support and mentorship from world-renowned experts.
Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report ranked several of the college’s graduate- and professional-level degree programs and specializations among the nation’s very best:
