Stress Science Laboratory
Advancing research on the relationships between physiological stress, health and well-being.
Founded in fall 2016, the Stress Science Laboratory (SSL) operates within the College of Nursing Translational Biosciences Laboratories at The Ohio State University. Jodi Ford, PhD, directs the lab and leads faculty and students who advance research on the relationships between physiological stress, health and well-being. The team also develops methodological innovations that improve the validity and reliability of stress biomarkers.
In addition to research, the SSL offers:
- Training and consultation: Group workshops and individualized sessions on stress science methodologies and laboratory techniques.
- ELISA assay: Hair and salivary cortisol processing and assay
- Collaborative networking: Events and initiatives designed to foster interdisciplinary research partnerships.
For general inquiries about the SSL, please contact Dr. Ford directly. For questions related to specific research projects, we encourage you to reach out to the individual faculty affiliates.
