Satisfactory academic progress notification and appeal process

Satisfactory academic progress (SAP) is monitored by the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management and regulated by the federal government. SAP ensures students obtain their degrees within 90 credit hours (120 credit hours for doctoral students), successfully complete 67% of their attempted hours, and maintain a 3.0 GPA to receive financial aid.

This most commonly applies to Graduate Entry students, as the curriculums range from 95 to 116 credit hours.

SAP Warning

If this is your first warning for credit hours, email your graduate program manager answers to the following questions — they will submit the information to financial aid on your behalf.

  1. Name.#
  2. Is this your first SAP warning for maximum time frame?
  3. What is your program?
  4. What is your specialty track?
  5. Semester of admission (i.e. summer 2023)
  6. How many credit hours do you have left to take?  Include all minors, specializations and elective classes.

If you received multiple SAP warnings or a warning for GPA, file the SAP appeal form.
