Graduate Students

Graduate students in the College of Nursing must meet all requirements set by The Ohio State University Graduate School. Prior to applying to graduate, review the Graduate School handbook for the requirements set for doctoral and master level students.  You may apply to graduate up to one semester before your intended term, but no later than the second Friday of that semester. The College of Nursing shortens the Graduate School’s deadline by one week to allow time for document processing.

After submitting the application through Grad Forms, you should review its status to ensure the processing and approval of the application:

  • Initial Review: indicates the application is awaiting action from a member of the College of Nursing, typically the faculty advisor. Please contact your faculty advisor in the College of Nursing if your status appears as “Initial Review” for more than a few days after submission.
  • Graduate School Review: indicates the application has been approved by the faculty advisor and the form is awaiting final processing by the Graduate School.

Final approval is granted by the Graduate School after the deadline to apply to graduate, which may occur midterm.
