Biography
Dr. Randee Masciola is a DNP-prepared women’s health nurse practitioner with a scholarship focus on the clinical management of sexual and reproductive health issues, as well as the APRN role and education. She teaches primarily in the DNP program, focusing on evidence-based projects and leadership competencies. As Director of DNP Education, she leads curriculum development and evaluation of the DNP educational specialty tracks, while advocating for the role both locally and nationally. Dr. Masciola also serves on multiple boards that set national guidelines and best practices for delivering quality, evidence-based, competency-specific education to APRNs.
In light of the aging population and growing need for advanced practice nurses, Dr. Masciola advocates for DNP-prepared nurses and DNP education to provide the clinical expertise and leadership skills needed to fill critical roles, including clinicians and nurse leaders to meet workforce demands.
Her goals include continuing to explore in-person and virtual global opportunities to meet DNP competencies, improve communication, build intercultural competence and develop global nursing citizens. She strives to maintain a DNP program of excellence to improve patient outcomes and close the gap between research and practice.
A lifelong Ohioan, Dr. Masciola holds degrees from The Ohio State University (BSN '96 and MS '98) and Case Western Reserve University (DNP '16).
