Research interests
- gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, specifically colorectal cancer survivors
- sociobiological mechanisms of symptom toxicity in GI cancers
- focusing on microbiome-brain-gut interactions, GI and psychoneurological symptoms in long-term cancer survivors, including multi-omics (genetics, microbiomes, metabolomics)
- roles of race and SDOH on inflammatory fecal microbiota and symptom disparities
- lifestyle behavioral interventions to manage long-term and late symptom toxicities for racial and ethnic minority population
- hospice and palliative care for vulnerable cancer populations (gero-oncology, racial and ethnic minority cancer survivors) at home and in community settings
- methods: big data analysis, machine learning, AI-based approach, quantitative research methodology
