Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Practice: Supporting Evidence-based Care

Celebrate Nurses Week with a free continuing education opportunity designed to strengthen your evidence-based practice (EBP) skills and explore the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing. This timely presentation will introduce practical ways AI tools can support evidence-based care while emphasizing responsible, ethical use in clinical settings.

Retrieving, synthesizing and interpreting evidence to inform nursing practice is essential — and increasingly challenging as health care literature expands and clinical demands grow. AI tools offer promising opportunities to streamline literature searches, accelerate evidence synthesis and support timely application of EBP.

However, AI outputs may be inaccurate, biased or based on incomplete information, requiring careful evaluation and responsible integration. This presentation introduces foundational concepts for using AI to support EBP while emphasizing practices that promote transparency, protect privacy and maintain professional accountability.

Participants will leave with practical strategies to incorporate AI into EBP workflows in alignment with clinical standards and organizational expectations.

Learning objectives for participants:

  • Describe how AIcan be applied to support EBP activities
  • Identify responsible-use strategies to mitigate common risks when using AI
