In February, the college was honored to screen the new documentary, “The Black Angels: A Nurse’s Story,” followed by a Q&A session and reception with the film’s producer, Denetra Hampton. The film tells the story of the brave African American nurses who risked their lives to care for patients with tuberculosis at a time when the condition was considered incurable. “Every lead role in my films will be a nurse scientist,” said Hampton, a nurse herself. |
