Joyce Karl received her BSN from Capital University (Columbus, OH) and her MS, Post Master’s Certificate as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), and Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH).

 

Joyce is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, and is licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Ohio. She also is certified by the American Board of Occupational Health Nurses as a Certified Occupational Health Nurses as a Certified Occupational Health Nurse - Specialist, COHN-S. She also is credentialed by the American Heart Association as both an ACLS Instructor/Provider and BLS Instructor/Provider.

 

Joyce is a versatile advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who has been practicing at a metropolitan academic medical center in a variety of roles and types of clinical practices. Joyce joined the OSU College of Nursing in 2013 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice teaching in the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP and DNP programs. Her DNP scholarly project, "Health Literacy Assessment of University Employees Using the Newest Vital Sign (NVS) Tool" was completed in 2015.
