I am a current College of Nursing Student, how can I apply for the Nurse Educator certificate?

If you are currently enrolled in the College of Nursing, and meet the certificate requirements, you may add the certificate to your plan of study via the Certificate Tracking Form. Please see your Program Manager for more information.

How long does the certificate take to complete?

This certificate can be completed in as little as two semesters.

When are the courses offered?

Each course is seven weeks long. N7530 and N7536 are offered in the Autumn, and N7537 and N7538 are offered in the Spring.

Are students required to come to campus?

This certificate is 100 percent online and there are no on-campus requirements. 7538 Teaching in Nursing Capstone does have a precepted component. The experience will be tailored to meet the objectives of the course, as well as individual student interests in nursing education.

Does State Authorization impact my eligibility?

A professional license or certification may be required to practice in the field of this academic program, or to advance or specialize in that field. This program meets licensure requirements in the State of Ohio and is approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
